Expanded range of LED Backlit LCD's

Durapixel™ is Litemax's ‘Next generation' LED-backlight panel technology. This LED backlight can support wide operational temperature ranges of -20°C to 60°C, which may overcome the limitation on existing LCD's for some critical environments.

Power consumption is reduced. Compared to CCFL high brightness panels Durapixel™ saves up to 30% power consumption resulting in longer battery life for portable applications and mobile devices.

Brightness is not compromised, Durapixel™ delivers up to 1000nit and offers up to 90% uniformity, is ROHS compliant and the LED drive electronics can accept DC power supply contributing towards EMI noise reduction. Due to the robust nature of LED backlights over CCFL tubes and with a wide dimming range, Durapixel™ technology is ideally suited to aviation, transportation, marine and military applications.

Using Advanced Optibond Technology the LCD sunlight readable performance may be enhanced even further. The addition of this process to the front of the LCD improves contrast whilst reducing the amount of reflections. It also provides added durability for the front surface.

A matrix of Ultra Bright surface mount LED's provide good luminance uniformity with wide dimming ranges available using either the standard LED backlight controller or customised variants of it. Variable voltage or Pulse width Modulation (PWM) are the two methods of varying the backlight brightness. This may be enhanced further with the addition of light sensing solutions to provide automatic brightness control.
